Work Experience

Category of rules related to a candidate’s work experience, which is derived from work history.

Career Months

The number of months of work history a candidate must have overall.

Parameters:

  • months: An integer representing the number of months required

Career Years

The number of years of work history a candidate must have overall.

Parameters:

  • years: An integer representing the number of years required.

Career Years in Timeframe

The number of years of work history the candidate must have within the timeframe.

Parameters:

  • years: An integer representing the number of years required.

  • timeframe_years: An integer representing how many years to look back.

Charting System

Checks whether the candidate has experience working with different (IT) charting systems in previous employment. Not concerned with duration.

Parameters:

  • systems: A list of charting systems that are of interest to the employer, e.g. Epic, Cerner, etc.

Specialty Years

The number of years of work history a candidate must have in the specialty of the job they are applying to.

Parameters:

  • years: An integer representing the number of years required

Specialty Years in Timeframe

The number of years of work history a candidate must have in the job specialty within the timeframe.

Parameters:

  • years: An integer representing the number of years required

  • timeframe_years: An integer representing how many years to look back.

  • locale_override (may not be set): A timeframe override for states with requirements that differ from the general company rule. If set, and the job takes place within the state, the timeframe for that state will apply instead (e.g. timeframe_years is 2 but for California the timeframe is 3).

    • Parameters:

      • state: A job state where the override applies.

      • years: The timeframe in years which applies to this state.

Travel Years

The number of years of work history a candidate must have in travel jobs.

Parameters:

  • years: An integer representing the number of years required in work at travel agencies

Submittal Restriction

Category of rules placing restrictions on the applicant’s job applications.

Facility Limit

The maximum number of active job applications a candidate can have at a facility (e.g. hospital).

Parameters:

  • submittals: An integer representing the maximum number of submittals allowed.

System Limit

The maximum number of active job applications a candidate can have at a health system.

Parameters:

  • submittals: An integer representing the maximum number of submittals allowed.

Job Start Date

A restriction on when candidates can start applying to a job, determined relative to the job’s start date. Some jobs may not be able to accept applicants too far in advance of the start date.

Parameters:

  • weeks_out: An integer representing how many weeks before the job begins that candidates can apply.

Credential

Category of rules related to a candidate’s credentials. In general these rules are checks that a candidate has all active (ie not expired) credentials required by the job. Credentials should also have a current status and not be archived where applicable.

Certifications Required by Company

Active certifications required by a company. Depending on the job’s specialty the company may require specific certifications from the candidate. Implemented as a list where each entry has the properties below.

Parameters:

  • entries: property for accessing a list with each certification requirement.

  • Certification Requirement Parameters:

    • name: The name of the required certification

    • specialties: The job specialties for which this certification is required

Certifications Required by Specialty

Similar to the company rule, except the required certifications are defined relative to the job’s specialty. This can overlap with certifications required by company.

Parameters:

  • “all of”: Certifications required for the job’s specialty. The candidate must have all of these certifications.

  • “at least one of”: Certifications required for the job’s specialty. The candidate must have at least one of these certifications, but is not required have all of them.

  • preferred”: Certifications requested, but not required, for the job’s specialty. If the candidate has any preferred certifications a notification will be set.

Identity

Identification required by a company e.g. a driver’s license.

Parameters:

  • name: The type of identification documentation required

License

Confirms the candidate is licensed for the job. It works as follows:

  • This check only applies to nurses and defaults to true for other personnel.

  • The check applies in the same way for all nurses and therefore has no parameters.

  • if the candidate has a license in the same state as the job then they qualify.

  • If the candidate has a compact license in the same state as their state of residence, and the job takes place in a compact state, then they qualify.

  • Otherwise the nurse does not qualify.

Parameters: None

Medicals

Confirms the candidate has all “medicals” required by the job e.g. vaccinations.

  • Some companies may allow exemptions for certain medicals, in which case the procedure is not required but exemption documentation must be provided.

  • This rule is organized as a list, with each entry possessing the properties described below.

Parameters:

  • entries: property for accessing a list with each medical requirement.

  • Medical Requirement Parameters

    • name: The name of the required procedure e.g. COVID Vaccine

    • exemption_allowed: Whether the company will make an exception for the procedure.

Packet Reports

Confirms the candidate has completed all packet reports required by the company.

Parameters:

  • packet_reports: Names of the packet reports required.

Questionnaire

Confirms the candidate has completed all questionnaires required by the company.

Parameters:

  • questionnaires: Names of the questionnaires required.

References

Determine if a candidate has enough supervisor references. Restrictions on which references are counted may apply based on how long ago the candidate worked with the reference, and for how long the candidate worked with the reference.

Parameters:

  • references: An integer representing the number of required references.

  • coverage_years (may be unset): The number of years of experience the reference applies to ie how long the candidate needs to have work with the reference. If not set then no restrictions apply.

  • timeframe_years (may be unset): An integer representing how many years to look back. If not set then no restriction applies to when the reference interacted with the candidate.

Resume

Confirms the candidate has a resume credential included in their profile..

Parameters:

  • resumes: List of uploade resumes.

Screening

Confirms the candidate has completed all screenings i.e. background checks required by the company.

Parameters:

  • screenings: Names of the screenings required.

Skills Checklist

Checks if if any of a candidate’s skills checklists match the job’s specialty. Skills checklists are specialties defined within the HSH portal. For further details review the provided mapping.

Work History Gaps

Category of rules related to gaps (periods of time not employed) in a candidate’s work history. Gaps are only of concern to employers if they lasted an extended period of time (e.g. longer than a month) and they are not explained by the candidate (e.g. they were on medical leave, family leave, etc.).

Allowed Gaps

The number of unexplained gaps allowed in a candidate’s work history.

Parameters:

  • gaps: An integer indicating the maximum number of gaps allowed.

  • gap_size_days: An integer indicating the minimum gap size the company is concerned with.

Allowed Gaps in Timeframe

The number of gaps allowed in a candidate’s work history within a specified timeframe.

Parameters:

  • gaps: An integer indicating the maximum number of gaps allowed.

  • gap_size_days: An integer indicating the minimum gap size the company is concerned with.

  • timeframe_years: An integer representing how many years to look back.

Distance from Facility

Category of rules related to the distance from the job site. For facilities seeking travel workers candidates only qualify as travel workers if they live a certain time/distance away from the job site.

Mileage Radius

The minimum required driving distance from the candidate’s residence to the facility.

Parameters:

  • mileage: an integer representing the minimum number of miles required between the candidate’s residence and the job facility.

  • exception_allowed: Whether the company may accept candidates closer than the minimum distance.

Personal Information

Category of rules pertaining to sensitive information contained within a candidate’s profile.

Date of Birth

The candidate is required to have their date of birth filled out.

Parameters: None

SSN

The candidate is required to have their social security number filled out.

Parameters: None

Permanent Employment

Category of rules related to permanent employment. Travel workers are contract workers. Some companies do not allow a worker to contract with a company they were once permanently employed by.

No Employment in System

The candidate cannot have been permanently employed at a facility within the health system related to the job’s facility.

Parameters:

  • company_name: The name of the health system the candidate can’t have worked for on a permanent basis.

No Employment in System in Timeframe

The candidate cannot have been permanently employed at a facility within the health system related to the job’s facility, within the specified timeframe.

Parameters:

  • company_name: The name of the health system the candidate can’t have worked for on a permanent basis.

  • timeframe_years: An integers representing the number of years to look back.
